'03 Alphard also can get around RM100k, early Mini Cooper (not Cooper S) oso below RM80k, so how to compare cheap or not?

The Alphard pic was not taken at a scrapyard or a workshop, implying it's status... But it is taken at a car lot with an abandoned crashed car behind it...

New Mini Cooper owner should peel off the stickers (imho)

The GTR has ugly rims... Well, u;ll have a lot of spare cash to buy better ones

Note that these are not pictures taken by me... I'll be seeing the cars soon, and give out all the details i can get, provided the car still available la... These cars from this 'owner' is selling like hot cakes... Feedback from previous buyers, no issue with police or JPJ, road tax renewal, insurance, after years of usage...

Because the nature of the cars, the 'owner' dont want joyriders to come and see... If you're dead serious, can follow me to Batu Pahat to view the cars and sign the dotted lines... I'm just helping the 'owner' ... According to him, 90% came and part cash/cheque within the same day, and not much questions were traded

if it is... there's a risk of the car will be impounded by KDRM. and they are so efficient in this... since the JPJ records are now online conected with KDRM on the excise duty. data are available for each lot especially imported used car

Will not have issue with KDRM... I cant say much coz I have no experience in buying such cars, but from what the owner told me, and from people who have experience (even in IA), the only issue was to fork out cash, and no warranty from seller...

- we all know got cars/motorcycles that "swim across" from Singapore and get "re-registered" as Malaysian vehicles or "take over" the registration of a Malaysian vehicle.

- its , sorry to say , nothing new lah.

- but whats new here is got people post up pictures of the cars on the net ... some even got pictures with number plate summore ... macam mana pun , sendiri paham sudah lah.

Can PM me the details and reasons for the affordable prices? Am interested in the Alphard, but must be a legal purchase lah. If purchase price cheap but drive also have to hush-hush and every year takut to renew roadtax, then not worth the lower price tag, IMHO.

You pays your money and takes your risk, is all I will say. Everything is clear from a documentary point of view (i.e. "legal") at the point of sale, but everything I've been told is that the process of getting that clearance is dodgy as hell and fraught with back pockets. If detailed enquiries were to be made (e.g. change of government), there's a small chance the paperwork will be reversed and/or the vehicle impounded.

One of these "you know I know la" situations. Malaysia boleh.

Was highly tempted by an E46 M3 through this scheme at 80k+, but I just wouldn't be able to rest easy if I went ahead.

Not to mention a lot of scams out there... Well this one, u dont need to give deposit to view... Keep your money in your pocket, see the car, test, check documentation, take plate number and call anyone for reference, then make decision within the same day... Can ask them to do the clearance also with no added duit kopi...

As for detailed enquiries, no comment :-''

Deals like this, yes not as rest-easy as conventional purchases...I'm in no position to say that it's going to be 100% trouble free coz I also haven't purchase one, but my best advise is to ask anyone who have experience buying and owning such cars, and see what kind of problem they have faced... It's always risky when u go on the non-conventional route, but what u get is a great bargain...

my advise is to check the car status with JPJ and customs department.

if the car is actually a singapore runnaway car.. better avoid as when KDRM impound you car.. there goes your cash!

I was offer the same thing some years back. Too dodgy. Unless it is via kdrm open tender system, it will never be legal. If ever someone do a cleanup or audit on the dept, those who purchase via this deal might be in trouble.This was the advise from someone in the govt.

Anyway, to some, this risk is worthwhile but is your decision at the end of the day.

Syndicate providing road tax services crippled

KUALA LUMPUR:

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested seven people suspected to be runners who helped obtain road tax for smuggled vehicles.

It is learnt they also helped obtain approval for customers whose vehicles were subject to compulsory inspection by Puspakom and JPJ.

It is also believed that the syndicate had assisted in processing documents for accident cases, kereta potong and changing of engine capacity which did not fulfill approved specifications.

The arrests were made in Manjung, Taiping, Batu Gajah Prima and Ipoh in Perak between 8.30am and 2.50pm on Sunday. The age of those arrested were between 30 and 50 years old.

The case was confirmed by MACC deputy director Datuk Shukri Abdull but he declined to elaborate.

The MACC had been tracking the activities of the syndicate members for a month.

It culminated with the arrest of 14 individuals including two enforcement officers, middlemen and insurance agents.

The syndicate had been largely operating in Pahang and Perak and had inside help from the JPJ.

Since the arrest, the MACC found and sealed 30 cars which had been made “legal” by the syndicate but the agency believes more vehicles are involved.

They managed to get Puspakom and JPJ inspection approval for vehicles, although the car owner or the vehicle were not there.

“Insurance agents would charge the owner a fee of RM100 to RM800 depending on the vehicle model type or difficulty involved in the job,” said an MACC source.

I don't know laaa.
These kind of deals happen all the time and people fall for it over and over again. I'd stay a hundred miles from it; too many questionables. Why must the deal be cash? Trying to sell something but "tak mahu ramai-ramai orang" ??

Anyway, I'm writing this just to remind friends here that if there's anything wrong (illegal) in the transaction and you've got something to do with it (buyer ka, seller ka, agent ka, introducer ka...) everybody kena! The car being impounded is not the end of it. You will still be subject to legal action as well....So, be careful yaa.... :mrgreen:

Lain2 process, i just handover the potential buyer to my friend, and everything deal with him. To tell u the truth, this is my first time helping him sell. I get kopi only by helping him spread the words. Couple of our friends already driving M3s and GTR from him. From what they said, no problem whatsoever la after driving for 2-3 years. Itu apa yg diorang ckp la, who knows what really happen kan

For the amount of monies you pay, you'd wanna make sure that the car and you will have no problems with the authorities for as long as you own the car. What if after a year and this whole deal kantoi. I doubt you can just abandon the car by the roadside and walk away.

As a side note, from the info i gathered from friends, KDRM, JPJ, bankers, and owners of kastam reregistered cars, all cars sold under the kastam reregistered scheme is legal... You can buy, drive, resell, without any issue... Why must cash, cost these cars no AP, so bank won't process loan... Why cannot ramai2 come and see the car, coz afraid of bidding... But be afraid of runners who might ask you 'deposit' or booking fee... Deal straight with person in charge, and insist on seeing identification...
