actually it looks good on its stock steelies..... i always liked those 1960's NASCAR racers on black steelies....

id refurb the suspension and brakes(maybe a tastefull brake upgrade) back to stock and fit a new double duck top....., maybe just add a header and dual glass pack mufflers... but i would'nt touch the rest....

its a rare beast in this condition, and easily over restored, you have all the history with it as well....... so try and keep the 'patina' if you can....

Actually Dave, im starting up a classic car rental/wedding car rental business. The engine and brakes definitely needs to be serviced (at least) or overhauled (if need be) as i cant afford to have my "customers" stranded in our Malaysian 35 degree weather with their wedding gowns and suits etc... not a good thing for my "reputation" :)

And the colour... Im thinking of sticking with the orig colour, just getting the painter to get sample from one of the panels and repaint the original colour, minus the gold of coz.

And the top and interior needs to go... ive tried sitting in that BLACK Vinyl in the hot sun... believe me... with wedding gowns... she will have a very RED A$$ :P

I will update u once the engine is out...

Cheers

Not much rust, just do the necessary and save the moolah.........
Do a red and white colour scheme, something like what was on Boyd Coddington's
top 10 Hot rods .
Is it an ori RHD?? or converted?

Yeah what i meant by "restoration" is not a baremetal respray kinda deal... just a 1 layer white/off white paint and redoing the interior with light colour leather. That BLACK PVC is DAMN PANAS...

And RHD Australian Model... ORIGINAL from Factory... although in Australia the same car is badged as Chrysler Valiant VC (see my steering wheel centre boss)...

Even if they have, I wouldnt do that really. This car is all ORI from bumper to bumper and never been restored. She even has the original engine in it from 1966 (I just confirmed with Dodge US). So the value will appreciate if i keep her original...

most mopar restomods on average actually cost more on the open market than stock ones. really depends on what changes you make - upgrading of drivetrain (again depends specifically on what), suspension and brakes is acceptable vs adding bucket seats, modern 2-din head units, alarm system etc ain't.

Saw yr car a few days back at Datford's, a real gd condition car virtually no rust,
apart from a slight tear in the soft top, and driver's seat where a cat made it ,it's scratching post
and a totally rusted fuel tank.
its doesn't need much work apart from a fresh coat of paint.
But that engine looks prehistoric, some muscle needs to be inserted under the hood.
But it is a very bland looking car, it needs some blinging mate...
Saw that Camargue next to yr car , grren colour.

Looks like the oil consumption is high, the life line Shell Helix bottle present in engine bay ...
I agree with 126dave.. looks great. I love old cars with the look that match. But that said, I would upgrade the brakes to disc as I would assume these are drums. These cars are heavy and you will need good brakes. Get a good leather conditioner for the leather bits. Soak them well and apply multiple treatments within 3 months spans so as to rejuvenate the leather .. as these are prone to cracks due to leather drying up. The dash bit is most important as most antique cars will have shrunken dash boards.

Lovely car .. all the best dude .. bring it to TT some day.

that's a 5.7hemi from a 3rd gen dodge truck. you'll need a 3rd gen transmission to go with it, the proper headers to fit your a-body, new front and back ends, complete revamp of your suspension and braking set up, and of course a whole lot of cutting. unless you've got the means to go out on a full mod on this one, quit toying with the idea, and move on with your concourse plans. would make a lot more sense.

Hahaha, got carried away, ..
Just get a Nissan GTR eng.with twin turbos and shove it in...more power.....and reliable.....

just joking.....we have to be realistic..this is takbolehland where big bore engines are concerned
unless you are a multi millionaire that conversion of engine, brakes, susp. etc to import it here will cost
a bomb just in customs duties. we are talking of 4-500k to rebuild the car to Chip Foose specs.
Not counting the 20k in roadtax a year for a 7 litre engine.

Even some millionaires here don't pay that kind of roadtax for their super cars...
I saw an ori. real Mccoy Merc C63 with a 6.1lit AMG eng. with single no. and r/tax as 2.6lit...
don't ask how they did it but the car is real with massive AMG brakes and 6pot calipers and V8 under the hood
and 6.1 clearly shown on the valve cover.

Took the OLD oil filter out just to make sure that the one I ordered matches and look at what I found...

MOPAR!

It looked like it came off the factory in '66! What the... ! :)

I dont know maybe im wrong, but the filter looked at least 20 years old to me... meaning all this while they never serviced the engine! Arrggghhh...

Oil filters no need to import in, just get the sample and find a compatible one in the local parts shops
My 2CV one I found locally is same as Opel Frontera..
