Them beetle parts can be be bought new so I guess that if you're gonna restore one, it ain't gonna be hard to source the parts you need. All you need is $$$$ to bring them in.

the later beetle stuff is easy, they were made in brazil till recently, i think theres a guy in malacca opposite the geographer bar that stocks panals.... i remember working on my mates mums car...nicly built, but it used to spit plugs out...and it was a pain getting them out of the motor air cowling, and even more of a paint refitting them......

go for it, buy the best you can afford and enjoy it mate

Beetles are a great choice for a classic ride...probably..one of the easiest and cheapest to maintain (cheaper than the mini..hands down)...parts are easy to get hold of...plenty of "experts".... ...

the best part of owning a bug...is BUGFEST and BUG-O-RAMA :)

also there are various looks you can go for... my perosnal favourite is the Cal-Look... simply breathtaking ...

Air cool is the way to go.... ;)

I think you should fully concentrate on the Dodge at the moment,
make it a head turner and then sit and ponder whether you need to jump into the bug grave.
But I admit I watch Beetle crisis and Campervan and I am hooked also but nah........

Yesterday saw Wreck Rescue and a 20yr old British chick did a rust bucket Frog-eyed Sprite all by
herself into a pristine one, it was absolutely beautiful resto...
