Nah it's his, bought like that for cash, for parts only, a 'donor' car for the orange Berlina. Same like me buying that green Fiat 124 S as a donor for the ST. If you notice some of the emblems are missing, front seats, etc. The last thing he wanted to remove were the hoops, but he hasn't gotten around to doing that...yet. Anyway, the best price is RM2k, but without the Lancia alloys.

Depends bro. I'd really have to take a closer and more in-depth look. I only managed to view the car fleetingly. The one good thing it has going for it is that despite the length of time its been unattended to, it has been in the shade, under cover of a proper roof. That may have saved it a bit from the elements. But just how far 'gone' remains to be seen. First thing is to get rid of all that JUNK from the roof, bonnet and boot area of the car!

Wahh 2k for no carbs no servo??? Mana mau cari itu barang...damn if i knew this earlier i wouldn't have sold my Weber Twins which has been in storage for couple of years...and for the Servo, it is tough to find the original unit..importing one from Italy would cost you a bombshell...as it is my Motronic rear lamps are costing RM700 each piece no thanks to the Euro's value...if USD can at least be way cheaper...

I tot it would be interesting to put in a much newer generation lump but then again most models are front wheel driven as opposed to the Berlina so I reckon it's a no go then.

It can be done if you use a Alfa 75 Twin Spark engine since this setup is same as the Alfetta with a rear gearbox. But this Berlina's with its original engine 1750 Twin Dellorto's is also a fun car. I tested one before i bought my Alfetta back in 2003 and I hit 220km/h at the North South Highway and taking corners with it was a breeze..couldn't believe in my eyes and feel that this car was so powerful... but that time student only mah..didnt have much budget to buy the Berlina so settled with Alfetta instead..

Oh and do you know it comes with a LSD gearbox...quite modern for those days eh

1750 lights have flat rear lamps the 2000 versions have rear lamps like this but the again i may be wrong as the owner may have changed the lamps to 1750 units due to scarce availability of parts. Popping the hood up would reveal the story

Well with no reg. card..only can use as track car...unless can find a card in one of those chop shops in Ipoh...but all depends on the condition they are in...Berlina's are known to be very heavy in rusts...worst than Alfetta's.. have to look more closer la.. pics always dont tell the actual story behind it.. it is worth buying if you can get it cheap because you never know the cost of restoring it and how it could escalate..

Found another car in need of rescuing! This BMW 7-Series is parked outside a workshop, a few doors away from Goodwork Auto in Old Klang Road.





One of the wheels is missing (front left) and it looks like the car has been sat there for quite a while, anyone keen?

We had white E23 7-series when I was growing up (that was my very first Beemer experience). Unfortunately, it was involved in an accident . This was when we were on our way out of KL, to Perak, for the 2nd day of Hari Raya. I couldn't have been more than 10 I think. Despite the extensive accident damage, the car was able to continue on with the journey and complete the hari raya circuit for that year! Not sure what happened to it after we got back to KL, as it was replaced soon after by a Merc.

Anyway, I'll always have a soft spot for the E23s as the car protected me and family from any grevious bodily harm. Thank you E23!

I've just read through the whole thread, and have been lurking on the interesting find of the day thread for awhile, so I just wanted to say thank you. Reading about these finds made my afternoon. Its really quite amazing how some of these precious masterpieces have been left to rot, and saddens me when some of the owners don't want to sell their cars on to people who will care for them!

I'm a bit of a mudah junkie myself, checking the 1980 or older to 1989 section like a hawk daily, but its even more incredible what gems are lying around the workshops, etc! I've been looking for a project car for awhile now - dreaming of something American or Italian, but struggling to find the right car. Does anyone know of any neglected (or loved) muscle cars for sale for reasonable money? Chevy preferably, and pre 1973, but I'd be open to anything that might fit a V8. I found a web listing for a 1964 Impala 'Hardtop' at http://penampang.locanto.my/ID_11294904 ... mpang.html posted in Feb. Its a long shot, but does anyone know the owner or car? I tried contacting via email through the site with no success.

The Lancia Delta on mudah is very tempting to me. It has a strange mix of HF 4WD and 1.6 HT turbo going on, though. Headlights look to be HF 4WD units, and the listing says 2000cc (also a 4WD spec), but I don't think there were any RHD 4WD models. I guess it could have had a RHD conversion - the interior looks to be a 1.6 HF Turbo version. To add to the confusion, the front bumper is a 1.6 HF turbo unit - definitely repainted as the rubber bump strip was always black as far as I know. I have this irrational hope that its a 4WD unit. I havent called the seller yet to find out (I don't speak Malay, so I've got to arrange for a friend to call - probably tomorrow), but was wondering if anyone knows the history behind some of the older Lancias in Malaysia. Were/are there any 4WD models brought in, and any currently for sale? I've got my mind on a fairly big but specific project I'd like to undertake for something that I think would be unique, but would prefer not converting a FWD model to 4WD.

Thanks for the heads up about the lights. Hadn't noticed that 4WD and integrale lights differ. Integrales center lights were smaller as you remember. I think the lights might be HF 4WD units but its probably a FWD turbo. I'll still call to learn a bit more.

I'm located in KL, but it seems muscle cars are few and far between. If it was in the right condition, would probably have a look and think about the logistics of getting it here. Too bad the seller can't be reached. That's half the battle with these cars I guess (and half the fun).

ah this white berlina with ramesh? with maroon doors and boot? neway m restoring my berlina, yes alot of rust and now the chasis, floors, half the doors, booth, bonnet has been replaced... not forgeting the lights, rubbers cost a bomb... well i have to go true the same process on my gtv and giulia!...

i have a giulia for sale too if anyone is interested... complete body and nice number.. AT 8080

Welcome Struan! Glad you found this "Rescue Me!" thread interesting! Yup, there are a LOT of cars out there worthy of being saved, seriously, I find some every now and again during my drives, and while trawling Mudah

Excellent story man, glad u and your family were alright. Yes, these cars back then were all built like tanks, in fact, my dad used to have a Ford Cortina 2.0, and that was one solid mutha of a car. That's why I gave him the Volvo 240GLT after restoring it, and sure enough, he said it reminded him of his Cortina
