Well, as the title suggests, i heard from a reliable source that Fiat SpA will be appointing their agent for M'sia soon. Now dun get excited yet, becos i was told that it will be the Ally Azran/Torino group again. As Torino Sdn Bhd has already winded up/filed bankruptcy, it will be under a new company under Ally Azran. Apparently, Fiat SpA had approached many parties in M'sia, i.e. Naza, SDAC, etc etc but NO one willing to pick up the Fiat brand so they persuaded the Ally Azran people to take the brand. I was told that this time the new venture wlll be on a smaller scale as compared to Torino before. Not sure if they will be doing Abarth but my guess is they will.

So anyone here got the moolahs to take over the brand? :mrgreen:

If got, please do approach Fiat SpA, poor fellas at Fiat have no choice....what to do la....

if they do it with NAZA... i m certain that NAZA can break up fiat500 into CKD and the price will be much2 lower...

Dunno bout Fiat and their plans for M'sia. Surprisingly, Fiat and Abarth is doing quite ok In S'pore. The Ally Azran people have to price their cars right and also bring in the right model and variants.

If they get Fiat and say Abarth, i wonder if they will also sell Chrysler and Dodge :?:

Few weeks back, i went to Torino just to look see. That place is like ghost town. Only two or three mechanics around.....99% already ask to F**K off. This mechanics are there to make sure his grey import business still runs.

Ally is holding onto Fiat due to their AP lar. What else they sell except alphard, harrier or recon mercedes. :bangh:

Moreover, Ally's dad is one of the AP kings. Who will throw away such a lottery ticket ?

True, but Ally's dad, Dato' Hamid is not in good health i hear and the 2 sons basically call the shots now.

Also, bear in mind that Torino was owned not just by them but other PEKEMA members as well. I was told that this time round, Ally Azran only as shareholders.

Now they get to start over afresh, so hopefully they learn from Torino's past mistakes and do it right.

i'd really prefer them to do small, but a good job. Torino has some quite good people but perhaps mentality like gomen, sure dapat makan no need to fight for it...i heard they even approach Alfa (Sime) but even Sime is thinking how to loose the serpent...sigh...

Mebe Ally Azran should take all, AR, Fiat, Abarth, Chrysler and Dodge?

I was oso told that David of Torino/Ally Azran is going to Italy to discuss further/negotiate the details, as deal still not confirmed...Anyone here who knows him should prolly try and korek more info...

what i was told could just be a rumour or hearsay...so wouldn't keep my hopes up too much

For anyone else that got some rumour or whatever that can be update, please do so.
I'm eager to know the FIAT brand in Malaysia.
Atleast, if FIAT is establish again in Malaysia, they will stock up any spare parts according to sold car model in Malaysia with a cheaper pricelist.
And introduce a new or existing line up.

I hope they can settled the dealership soon. As I know all the old Fiat cars in The Ally Azan garage have almost cleared. Hope that they can bring in new model like Linea and Siena which some of them produced in China & India and have better pricing.

My Panda rear brake drum lining has worn out and the brake pump leaking too. However, the Torino Motor in Ulu Klang has ceased operation and I have to turn to outside for service. The service center source for these 2 parts from Glory Auto and M.S Sprint but they did not have stock. Worst come to worst, I have to accept the Spare parts shop advise that is paste a new lining and change rubber seal of the pump. It doesn't seen like a good ideal especially it involved the safety issue of the car. Finally I contact the Ex-service advisor of Torino Motor, he managed to get me a set brake drum set at the cost of RM 600.00. without the brake pump. I hope they can settle the dealer ship issue soon and let dealer service center resume service so that we won't face this spare part out of stock problem.

The place that used to be Torino still has a small parts department, they still have lots of brake parts available. Alternatively you could try ordering it from Shop4Parts.co.uk they will courier it over and if it is a smallish order then it won't be subject to any taxes.

I can't remember where my brake drums and shoes came from, but it certainly didn't cost RM600.... was done either by emech or MLM.

sad to hear that someone is trying to 'max' out the profit when someone else is facing difficulty. it is a rip off man :bangh:

I just wonder where and how did he got these brake drum lining from? The delivery man can't even produce the invoice for me. May be they need extra money for the Raya.

Well he is an ex-service advisor. So with his technical know how, he could possibly just get it custom made for this purpose. But just guessing though.

Yes, they have stopped the support for fiat cars and have closed the workshop. they are not bringing the fiat brand back and currently clearing all their remaining stock. they are focusing on their recond cars and peroduas. sad but true. most of the staff in the service division have left. so u have to do your fiats outside. as for part, things gets more worrying. as with their car, they are not bring any more parts and clearing the remainder. if you guys need part, you can pm me. i can try to help. cheers
