question is always "how often u squeeze ur car to top-end?"... if turbo lag is NOT an issue to u, and u offer to squeeze >4k-rpm, then... go ahead for FMIC with BIG turbo. otherwise if u prefer maybe ~3k-rpm torque kick-in, fast spooling, small-turbo and SMIC is the solution. my case... ha...?! ahem.. my car is SLOW okay... it's SLOW...

A turbo's size depends on 3 things:

a) the compressor wheel
b) turbine wheel
c) housing

You can have the same sized wheels in a turbo with a larger or smaller housing (also known as Area to Radius = A/R). For example the Garret GT35R (GT3582R) has a 65 pound compressor wheel (meaning it can flow 65 pounds of air per minute) but Garret as a company does offer different A/R sizes. They offer a .63, a .82 and a 1.06 (plus other sizes that I'm not aware of).

Now, most folks go with a .82 on this size turbo because it works well with the size of the compressor wheel. Now you can have a bigger housing, which will leave the potential for more power but this will also add more lag because you now have a larger area to fill with compressed air. The larger the compressor wheel, the more power it will push, but the more lag you will have. Now a smaller turbo would have less lag but it will also push less air.

Power has to do with the size more so then how much air there is flowing. If you had two turbos (A and B) and A was twice the size of B, but both are flowing 15lbs of air, turbo A would put down much more hp then turbo B. Imagine if you this if you will - you fill a 8oz paper cup with 15lbs of compressed air and you were to also fill a 32 gallon drum with 15lbs of compressed air. Yes they both have 15lbs of air but the it took a lot more air to make 15lbs in the 32 gallon drum then the 8oz paper cup. It would take longer to fill the drum too (this is called lag), but when you were to use that air for an explosion, the 32 gallon drum would have a much larger explosion because it had more air.

When I was in London last month FC Performance delivered my order of 440 cc injectors and a 3.8 bar FPR to the hotel I was staying. I have yet to put em in.

Some of you might know that I am contemplating to go Haltech engine tuning, but after much consideration, I have decided to stick with FC Performance  Don't be a guinea pig :P Since Flea is very experience tuning FIAT in UK. So, now is just for me to pay for the stage 4 and wait for the chip to arrive. Wuhoo!

Looks like I will be exceeding way past 300 bhp.

aim higher.. like class B rally cars..
1759 cc four cylinder engine combined supercharging and turbocharging to reduce turbo lag at low RPM and officially the car produced 480 horsepower (352 kW). Independent figures show the S4 could accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) on gravel in under 2.3 seconds.
and this is the legendary coupe's elder brother (Lancia Delta S4).... many of Lancia Tech went into coupe especially the Integrale Evoluzione II .. so keep the hopes high n fingers crossed..

In the handling department, after putting in the Whiteline anti roll bar to replace my broken UR, the car feels alive again. Going in and out of corners with much renewed confidence.

Now waiting for the chip by FC Performance to arrive and it will be time to install the bigger fuel injectors and fuel pressure regulator.

Different people, different priorities. Some choose to spend 10k on more power while some choose to spend on beauty products. In Deadlocks case, he chooses the latter.

The key words here are "less than 100k". And so without further ado (and I'm not hijacking UN's thread, as kelv has requested this post :P):

Nissan S13 Coupe (SR20DET manual)

Nissan S14 (SR20DET manual)

Nissan S15 (SR20DET manual)

Nissan R32 GT-R Skyline (RB26DETT manual)

Nissan R33 GT-R Skyline (RB26DETT manual): there's even one for sale at ATS Sunway for RM90k

Toyota Mark 4 Supra (2JZGTE manual)

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5 and 6 (4G63 manual): Although in sedan form (hence not as sexy), they still look decent, especially the Evo 6 (in my eyes anyway)

Just like Pistole puts it, it is still a sports car after all this years. ^:)^

Well, the bill? Ah, the bill, just one page short of DeaDlock =))

Managed to get that irritating knocking sound from suspension out of the way, so, now only hear the leather rubbing against each other and the wood that my amps attached to at the rear.

Really like a brand new car again. Just a few more things to fix like the roof lining which sags and other tiny stuff. Adjusted the front suspension, now it don't feel like a cruise liner anymore and more like a speed boat. :P Bonnet hydraulics kaput.

Only dissapointment is the chip. The whole idea of my Coupe going in was to chip and install the injectors and FPR. But the chip did not work, so, waiting for Flea to get back from his holiday to ship a new one.

Well, come to think of it, this is the first time I am spending major money on servicing, the rest is not, so, what gtfan advise a once novice member of RM500 a month maintenance is not true. Own it like 5 years and is like RM250 a month. =))
It doesn't matter if a cat is black or white, so long as it catches mice.
