I actually really wanted this one at first, but the Advan replicas came into availability first. If this one works out, I'll have three sets including the Azev A.

How have these rims been in terms of holding up against our road usage? Do they dent easily?

Dunno if it's feasible, but it's possible a few of the UK folks might want in on this? Not sure if the costs justify it for them though.

Their 17 x 7 Team Dynamics cost around 500 quid. 17 x 7.5 around 800. Technically these are around 500 without shipping. You'll never know. It just might appeal to them.

Postby invisibleghost » Mon Sep 19, 2011 3:09 pm

guys, let go back to why we did the group buy in the 1st place.
we wanted rims that can fit standard coop n clear the brembo without any alien material like spacers, whobble nuts, etc and not scrubing at full turn.

so, quicksave's solution is to use existing model and just amend the lugs n offset.

in the 1st batch, we compromised on the scrubing as we do not want stagger off set. the 1st batch was call off twice due to many of the issues. you can refer to the old thread. YHI would make 10 sets and we only take 5 sets. the balance 5 they wanted for some market survey. the pioneer members were me, gtfan n pistole. there was even a letter for the 1st batch (pistole idea, hahahaahha).
we grabbed all the 10 sets + 2 more sets(iirc).

then came 2nd batch, all 12 sets, iirc, were grabbed within 2 weeks as the 1st batch was the moving testimonials. no 1 asks abt the letter.

if not quicksave or yhi does not want to do 7.5 of watever size, the mould is already standard 17x7. they just amend the lugs n off set. to use a new mould will need a minimum of 3,000 pieces just to ROI, i m sure you don't want all coops in msia to have the same design.

back to offset, if possible YHI will use the prev offset, can remember which 1. if cant, they will have to remeasure again with my car as sample. (stock mah). if u mod ur calipers, etc and cant fit, you are on ur own.

please remember all the 15 sets will be EXACTLY the same. color, etc.

remember the objective is to get a set of rims that can fit stand coop without spacer, etc at a decent price.

i remember outbreak has a set of off-the-shelf rims that he bought over from the UK but costs abt 6k++

and the factory is in taiwan. last time, there was 1 taiwanese engineer who came to measure my car

Guys, I don't have a clue on offset or width or ET numbers or anything like that. Total n00b when it comes to wheels. All I know is that if it...

1) bolts on direct without scrubbing at full lock
2) clears the Brembos
3) Is not going to buckle after hitting a small ridge
4) looks good
5) priced well

...I am in.

Happy to go to Seremban (??) to do whatever and talk to whoever, but based in IG's post I'm not sure if there's any point.

I'm using the first batch. No complaints whatsoever. Having 7.5j would've been nice, but since the mould is 7j, IG is right. Really not much can be done for such a puny order. Whatever it is, my name is still on the list.

IG, Leon confirmed that this spoke design can clear the calipers? Thanks for your (once-again) effort. Sign up for one also laa..
