Cheap fix for sagging front springs

Postby jamslau » Mon Oct 01, 2012 7:47 pm

Hi people,
My coupe's springs are old & sagging lower, so the bumper scrapes ramps & my driveway. So I tried a cheap solution today. Spring buffers, RM38/pr. Added about 1" height, quick test showed no problems, similar characteristics to old springs.( don't expect springs to become lively again though)

Are the buffers only for the front or can they be used for all four sides?

I only installed on my front springs to raise them. But the buffers come in many sizes,
Sizes here: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... =1&theater

You must jack up & measure the rear springs diameter & clearance & thickness to choose the right one. Bear in mind, it will raise the rear 1-1.5 inches too.

Can I just buy it from the shop and ask them to fix? The whole jacking up and measuring is gonna cause me angst.

But glory does not fix the buffers. I would like to know where I can get help with the installation as well as I don't know the measurements for the buffers either.

I've installed buffers for my rear springs, size is C, coil inner diameter 1.5" , outer 2", thickness 0.25". I'm using it to raise the rear a bit to clear the side exhaust pipes.
(front springs replaced with new original, buffers removed because the new springs are higher now. Rear still old springs)
