Cam cover cracked : oil leak

I just fixed oil leak on right side ( some O rings below air cond area)
now the left side spring a leak... Upon checking, the mech found a new hairline crack on the cam cover! Anyone else experienced a crack like this?

This is the first time I hear cam cover cracked. Someone may have over tightened them nuts.

over tightened or someone accidentally dropped it, since it's cast iron, kinda fragile...

If cam cover cracked connot do wedding must change.coz the gasket too thin.even nothing for the cam cover using what brand gasket also is 1 important issue ...

- no need sealer. Just use a new gasket and lightly torque the bolts in correct sequence.

Yup the coupe's cast aluminium cam cover is easy to crack if over torque the bolts.
Usually the top right hand corner cracks.

Exactly! The top right side... I complained to the mech, said it wasn't cracked/leaking before, luckily they replaced it with a used cover ...

Well don't throw the cracked cover away! Can be welded..

Actually getting good welders is increasingly difficult these days. There isn't anyone that I can truly recommend unfortunately

Place near Ah Heng. Can weld anything... saw his work for an engine block... looks damn good...

emech send to an old man on Jalan Chan Sow Lin... small corner shop... at a junction... now, he's very good with cast iron welding...

Aluminium welding...i heard segambut have one. Last time Torino send all their aluminium welding there. Have to dig from DJ where the place is.
