fiat coupe rims selection

Postby balmung69 » Fri Dec 28, 2012 11:35 pm

Hi guys, sorry to go on and on about this issue but im worried and do not wanna make the wrong choice so bear with me  ,need to control my spending  . I might have want to change my stock 16" rim to a 17" . Is it recommended? current 16" running 225 but on 17" was told only can fit 215. any difference/ downside in handling or whatsoever department?

what design is available ? i spoke to leon at QS and was only offered one type. i saw one which looks awesome(gunmetal 6 twin spoke, something like Ferrari styling ) but i believe it didnt work out due to some technical issue.

Hope some sifu's can help me out with this . ^:)^

Azev A,Tsw, Asso Partire, Groupbuy rims from Quicksave, some Alfa Romeo rims, well that's the few common ones seen/heard on coupe Malaysia.
Basically you need 4x98 PCD, and suitable offset and spoke design to clear the Brembo calipers. Afaik, 4x98 rims ain't common here.
Never had 17's on my coupe before, maybe some can share their view on that. One thing's for sure, with 17 you will have much much wider choice of tires.
225's for 16" almost extinct already here. Probably left with T1R?

Given that you wana control spending, checked on other wear and tear stuff that might need changing? Rims definitely not on top of my shopping list for coupe, imho.

thanks alot, yes the only choice available is the T1R only. Now my coupe is in the midst of changing her engine, so once that is done tot wanna change rim for aesthetic purposes. besides my tyre almost botak , so was thinking might as well change rims together since its costly for T1R

The rims available from Leon is pretty much the only choice you have that's readily available. Differences in handling between 215 and 225 if any, is negelible. In fact, you may experience a comfier ride.

I used to ride on d standard 225s. Now runnin on 215 Michelin p3 w d stock 16 in rims....I wud say handling difference is minimal. Proly my driving n me handling d coupe is d only difference w time as I get more n more acquainted w her :) I suppose it all really depends on u n wat u want in ur coupe. But really no point payin premium price 4 225s when can get top notch 215s at better price (imho). Many a times I almost kena racun join GB for d 17in rims here.....looks awesome guys!!:D
Most pressure was when I itchy n wanted change tyres d....but in d end decided sandblast n refurbish my stock 16in rims n ended up w a ear 2 ear smile :D
In any case, agree w newbie's post above, engine parts, etc parts come 1st in coupes health :) treat her rite n she'll never fail treat u in return :) Such has been my story :D

i see. but sadly there is only one style of rims available and to me its been used by too many. not my style. there was one that i really like but sadly it didnt go into production. hopefully there will be some new style in the future. btw how did yours look like after the sandblast? could you send me a pic? also where did you do it?
